About Us
About - Vetish was officially established as a non-profit grass roots program in 2019 in order to provide services and resources to Veterans and their families during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. Vetish provided assistance in educational resources and housing stabilization to over one hundred clients in the first year. Vetish has not only served hundreds of Veterans and families but has partnered with several providers and agencies as well. Vetish has also provided resources & referrals to unhoused Veterans and Families Nationwide. Vetish continues to be a beacon of hope for new and prior vets and families.
VETISH FOUNDER AND CEO - Dr. Felicia Banks is a 2023 United States Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient. Dr. Felicia is also a 2023 Veteran of the year Awardee by the California State Veterans Caucus. Dr. Felicia studied Journalism before entering the U.S. Army as a Combat Photojournalist in 1985. She served 23 years combined Active, National Guard and Reserves in Combat Stress and Legal JAG Units. Her tours and travels include National and International duties and humanitarian aid. Dr. Felicia has earned degrees in Clinical Psychology including a Ph.D. and Legal Studies Degrees. She has received several accommodations and Service Medals including Humanitarian Service Medal and Outstanding Volunteer Service Award.
After leaving the Army in 2014, Dr. Felicia's service continued her service for several years in a Civilian capacity until she made the decision to direct her focus on serving Veterans. She holds several board positions including Executive Board of the California Veterans Caucus, Military and Families Chairperson for USC Citywide Veteran’s Collaborative, Women’s Veteran Liaison in Washington, DC. where she has served as Policy Day speaker advocating for Veterans on Capitol Hill. Her current service also includes Veterans Advisory Council and participation with the Governor’s Military Council, South Bay Aerospace.
Dr. Felicia stems from a Military and Veteran family having shared conversations with her dad about his 3 tours serving in Vietnam, (35 years of Army including Drill Seargent and ROTC Teacher) along with his Postal Service career while her mom served proudly as a City Police Officer.
Dr. Felicia has been a Clariant voice for Veterans and Veteran Families at Conferences Nationwide for more than 30 years.
Dr. Felicia established Month of the Military Child in several LAUSD Schools where she collaborated with Agencies to provide more than $15,000.00 in VISA gift cards which have been distributed to LAUSD Veteran Families along with Military Connected Student appreciation Day in Local Elementary, Middle and High Schools. She has also spearheaded projects that provided resources to assist Homeless Veterans with Families. Dr. Felicia is the author of the "VETISH Magazine", a project that provides Veteran resource information, Veteran celebrity spotlights, VETS in entertainment and much more. In 2019 she founded the nonprofit online retail store "VETISH" where proceeds provide Meals, Clothing, and Sustainable Resources for Veterans with Families.
